At RPM Raceway I'm part of the crew responsible for a fleet of 60+ electric go-karts that runs 8โ12 back-to-back racing sessions every day. Every kart gets a pre-session safety inspection and post-race service covering the battery pack, electrical wiring, motor connections, and the full drivetrain. When a kart faults mid-day, I have minutes between sessions to isolate whether the problem is electrical or mechanical and get it back on track โ zero downtime is the standard.
On the electrical side that means cell-level battery diagnostics, charge management, and inspecting high-current wiring and connectors. I work with the fleet's Forsee Power battery management and DiagVCU motor-controller software to read faults and verify system health, with a multimeter as my everyday diagnostic tool. It's the most direct application of my ECE degree so far: live EV power systems in an operational environment where the karts have to be ready at all times.
